Tra gli espositori presenti sono inclusi: Accordions USA, Alessandrini, Deffner Music Publications, Music Magic, Ottavianelli Accordions Factory, Pancordion, Pigini srl, Roland, Roland-USA, Scandalli, Titano, Victoria Accordions, SqueezinArt, The New England Accordion Museum, Petosa Accordions and Brandoni.  Il 6 ° Festival internazionale della fisarmonica Victoria si svolge questo fine settimana, dal 19 al 22 luglio. La festa inizia con un concorso di fisarmonica, che si tiene presso il Comfort Hotel & Conference Centre a Victoria.Alexander Sevastian (con alcuni ospiti speciali)terrà un concerto intitolato 'Notte Russa' Venerdì, 20 Luglio alle 19:30 presso la St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. Il popolare Yodeler e fisarmonicista Kerry Christensen e il sensazionale Trio Voronezh saranno sul palco in Piazza del Mercato Sabato 21 luglio, insieme a molti altri eventi gratuiti a partire dalle ore 01:00 con la Parade Accordion. Il Quartetto Gelato di fama internazionale, darà rilievo al festival con il concerto di Sabato sera, 21 luglio, alla St. Andrew Presbyterian Church alle 19:30.  Jazz brasiliano è stato suonato Venerdì sera, 13 luglio dalla Detroit Symphony Orchestra diretta da Carolyn Kuan al loro terzo fine settimana annuale di concerti all'aperto alla Edsel Ford House e Eleanore a Grosse Pointe Shores.Il programma comprendeva il fisarmonicista Julien Labro, un laureato della Wayne State University. L'esecuzione era di origine brasiliana con il cantante-chitarrista Paulinho Garcia e la polacca vocalist jazz Grazyna Auguscik in un programma di canzoni del celebre Antonio Carlos Jobim. Julien e Garcia sono collaboratori di lunga data e suonano la musica del Brasile e della Bossa Nova per serate a tema di musica brasiliana,tra i molti favoriti 'The Girl From Ipanema' e 'Adios Nonino' di Piazzolla. Con un Master in Studi sul Jazz e composizione musicale, Labro si è esibito in numerosi locali e festival jazz. Labro è un arrangiatore per diverse formazioni professionali e ha caratterizzato 'Another Country' della cantante Cassandra Wilson vincintrice di un Grammy.   To all my accordion colleagues: With great sadness I wish to announce the passing (20 July 2012) of an accordion giant, and my very good friend, Ralph Stricker. Ralph is the author of the landmark book "Jazz Theories and Improvisation for the Accordion". He was also a noted professional Blackjack player in his earlier years and he wrote books on that subject as well. Ralph was a kind man who readily offered his musical knowledge to anyone who requested it. I will miss his friendly calls and kind words. We offer our condolences and prayers to his loving, caring daughter Kathy in her hour of loss. Ron Ostromecki |

 The touring duo Steve Roxton (Jersey) and Jean Dauvin (France) were the guests at the Cheshire-based Stockport Accordion Club on July 18th, entertaining in a largely French musette style. Their performance certainly went down very well with the large audience, who were sent home in a happy mood.The concert opened with a set from the Stockport Accordion Band (MD Derek Stubbs), who played the march ‘Accordion Friends’, the traditional Polish waltz Szla Dzieweczka, and a lively waltz from Venezuela called ‘La Partida’. Other contributions came from Helen Rich with the ‘Trieste Overture’, a Stockport Accordion Club Quartet who played ‘Sunset Tango’ (Jerry Mayes) and ‘Crackerjack’ (GS Mathis), and Stockport AC Vice President Walter Perrie, who performed the music from Lehar’s ‘Merry Widow’. Steve Roxton began the guest spot singing and playing some Johnny Cash songs, followed by the ‘Fields of Athenry’, then a typical bierkeller medley in which he had everybody ‘schunkling’ up and down, side to side. He then brought on Jean Dauvin, and they played together in French musette mode. Jean then went solo, including demonstrating some of the impressive sounds of his MusicTech digital accordion. Their pieces included ‘March des Accordeonists Lyonnaise’, ‘Under Paris Skies’, ‘Fleur du Jura’, ‘Luci e Ombre’, ‘Jealousy’, ‘Reine de Musette’, ‘La Vie En Rose’, ‘La Seine’, ‘Pigalle’, ‘Reve de Jockey’, and many more. At the end many CDs and DVDs were sold, a mark of how well they went down with the audience.  2-row button accordionist James Keane, originally from Dublin but for based in New York since the 1970s, has recorded a new CD ‘Heir of the Dog’. James Keane, highly regarded by his peers in Ireland and the USA, is one of those responsible for establishing distinct styles of accordion playing in Irish traditional music.  The Accordions Worldwide news for July 24th 1998 included an item announcing the opening of Holland’s first accordion and harmonica museum. This museum is still flourishing in 2012, and has its own website. ACCORDION MUSEUM IN THE NETHERLANDS Contributed by Henk Kuik The first Dutch Accordion and Harmonica Museum "De Muse" opened last month with a collection of over 100 bellows instruments. The museum shows the development of these instruments from the Chinese Sheng to modern day instruments including bandoneons, concertinas, melodeons, accordions and some automatic instruments such as the Tanzbar and Hohner Organa. The 19th Century building is situated in Kerkplein 12, 6581 AC Malden, (near Nijmegen) in the southeast of Holland and also includes an accordion shop and a Music-café where musicians can meet and play. | This just published video of Zydeco by the very famous childrens TV Show Sesame Street is pure FUN. So Enjoy!! They even included an education text. Zydeco is a form of uniquely American roots or folk music. It evolved in southwest Louisiana in the early 19th century from forms of "la la" Creole music. As of 2012, the rural Creoles of southwest Louisiana and southeast Texas continue to sing in Louisiana Creole French. Zydeco combines elements of an older American musical style that began in the late 1700s, Cajun music, a style that consists of French fiddle tunes, Irish Celtic fiddle tunes, German button accordion, Latin rhythms, and Appalachian styles. Zydeco music was born as a blend of Cajun music and two other "new" American music styles, blues and rhythm and blues. |

 The Accordion Orchestra Brusque, director Bruno Moritz (picture right), is being featured as part of the Festival of Chamber Music in Brusque, anta Catarina on the 27th, 28th and 29th July 2012 at the Brusque Business Center.In August, the Accordion Orchestra Brusque which was formed in 2009, will be touring to Italy where they will be featured at the 2012 Coupe Mondiale in Spoleto on the Friday 24th August evening concert in the “Giancarlo Menotti” Theatre. The players are: Bruno Moritz, Marise Zen Walendowsky Sonia, Till Claudio Eduardo, Rubens Marques, William Kriscinsky, Gelasius Schaefer, Claudemir Westarb and Cristiano Lang. |

 Il maestro Marco Lo Russo domenica 22 Luglio è ospite al Fondi Music Festival, la rassegna musicale di caratura internazionale diretta dal Maestro Gabriele Pezone che si snoderà nel centro storico di Fondi per tredici giorni. I luoghi che ospiteranno gli eventi saranno i siti di maggior pregio del centro storico: il Castello Caetani, il Duomo di San Pietro, la chiesa di Santa Maria, l’auditorium comunale, il chiostro di San Domenico, il largo dell’ex chiesa di Sant’Antonio ed il quartiere ebraico della Giudea. Sarà il Maestro Marco Lo Russo domenica 22 Luglio alle ventidue nel Cortile della Giudea a rendere omaggio ad Astor Piazzolla nel ventesimo anniversario della sua scomparsa. Il recital porrà l’accento sul Nuevo Tango di Piazzolla, diverso dal tango tradizionale perché incorpora elementi presi dalla musica jazz e della musica contemporanea. Il Maestro Lo Russo con la sua poliedrica fisarmonica ci farà rivivere le emozionanti note delle celebri composizioni piazzolliane, da Libertango ad Oblivion passando dal Meditango fino a Vuelvo al Sur non dimenticando la Muerte del Angel e Chiquilin de Bachin. Il concerto sarà anche caratterizzato dall’esecuzione di alcune composizioni dedicate al celebre compositore argentino, rivisitate per fisarmonica in chiave molto personale dal Maestro Lo Russo, ovviamente l’improvvisazione sarà il collante di un recitale esclusivo e da non perdere. |
