 La 70° CIA Coupe Mondiale, dal 5 al 10 Settembre 2017, si svolgerà a Osimo, Italia, ospitata dal membro della CIA italiana, Italian Accordion Culture (IAC).Tutti sono i benvenuti a questo emozionante evento di fisarmonica internazionale e i fisarmonicisti sono invitati a esibirsi nella CIA "World Accordion Orchestra IX". La World Accordion Orchestra IX sotto la direzione del Prof. Joan Sommers si esibirà in tre opere: 1. "Omaggio a Pietro Overture" di Pietro Frosini è un vero e proprio omaggio ai primi pionieri italiani della fisarmonica. Frosini e Deiro che hanno scritto l'opera originale e Galla-rini che l'ha arrangiata per l'orchestra. 2. Medley di "La La Land" composto da Justin Hurwitz. 3. Medley di "Beauty and the Beast" di Alan Menken I membri della CIA WAO IX includeranno nuovamente musicisti di molti altri paesi - tra cui ufficiali della CIA e delegati presenti al 138° Congresso CIA.  La fisarmonicista lettone Ksenija Sidorova ha ricevuto un premio - 'Registrazione Concerto dell'Anno"- da Echo Klassic, il più importante premio della musica classica annuale in Germania, per la sua registrazione nel 2016 della musica di 'Carmen' di Bizet. La cerimonia di premiazione si terrà a Berlino ad Ottobre.Il CD 'Carmen' di Ksenija Sidorova, pubblicato il 3 Giugno 2016, è un nuovo punto di vista strumentale vibrante ed esotico del capolavoro operistico di Georges Bizet, infuso da un suono moderno e lo spirito latino originale. Esegue la musica di Bizet con la Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra, diretta da Sascha Goetzel. Le melodie dell'opera più famosa al mondo sono rielaborate con accattivanti colori orientali e i ritmi irresistibili della danza latino-americana. Sidorova interpreta il titolo, tracciando il destino tragico e appassionato di questa iconica Femme Fatale nel suo album di debutto per Deutsche Grammophon.  Il Loviisa Sibelius Festival terrà un concerto alla chiesa di Porvoo in Finlandia l'8 Settembre 2017 alle 19:00. Il concerto includerà la première mondiale dell'ultimo lavoro di uno dei più celebri compositori della Finlandia, Prof. Aulis Sallinen (1935).L'opera per fisarmonica, violino, violoncello e pianoforte è stata scritta in onore del 50° compleanno del fisarmonicista finlandese Mika Väyrynen. Su richiesta di Sallinen, questa nuova opera di 5 movimenti non include note di programma, l'unico testo scritto è: "questo lavoro è stato scritto come regalo di compleanno al mio amico musicista, Mika Väyrynen." Questo pezzo sarà la 6° Premiere Mondiale di Mika con un'opera del prof. Sallinen, durante una collaborazione cha ha più di 15 anni. La Première Mondiale di questo lavoro "Dance Music Suite Op. 107" per fisarmonica, violino, violoncello e pianoforte sarà eseguita da Mika e dagli altri musicisti Elina Vähälä (violino), Jan-Erik Gustafsson (violoncello - direttore artistico del Festival Loviisa Sibelius) e Paavali Jumppanen (pianoforte). Questo lavoro è uno dei sei nuovi lavori scritti per Mika Väyrynen in onore del suo 50° compleanno (7 ottobre 2017) e la 100° celebrazione della Finlandia e della sua indipendenza. Gli altri cinque lavori avranno la loro "Première Mondiale" al suo prossimo concerto di compleanno l'11 Ottobre 2017 presso la Camerata Hall dell'Helsinki Music Center. |

 Venerdì 1 Settembre, ore 19:30, il fisarmonicista diatonico Fergie MacDonald celebra il suo 80° compleanno con un grande ceilidh al Nevis Center, Fort William, in Scozia. Ci saranno molti ospiti, tra cui il fisarmonicista Gary Innes, il nuovo presentatore della BBC Radio Scotland Take the Floor.Fergie MacDonald è considerato da molti essere l'uomo che ha popolarizzato lo stile West Highland della tradizionale musica da ballo scozzese del ceilidh. MacDonald ha scalato le classifiche pop scozzesi nel 1966 con la sua "Loch Maree". Gli fu inizialmente vietato di apparire sulla BBC a causa del tradizionale processo di audizione ma ora appare regolarmente su BBC Radio Scotland e BBC Radio nan Gaidheal. Tutt'ora va in tour in tutto il mondo e ha pubblicato 23 album . Ha pubblicato la sua autobiografia nel 2003, ‘Fergie: Memories of a Musical Legend’. | The Black Country Accordion Club organiser Lou Ambrose writes: Once again this fabulous duo, the Classic Kyiv Duo, made the journey to visit this country and our club for a very special concert. We all look forward to Igor and Oleksiy calling to see us during their annual tour and all the preparations were made in advance for this fund raising event. As we anticipated we had almost a full house and everything was in place for the grand raffle and the anticipated auction. Thanks to the generosity of members and a local businessman we had a good selection of goods ranging from a vacuum cleaner, whiskey, champagne down to a dancing duck. Ray Izod opened the proceedings with a selection of popular tunes. He now makes a fairly regular appearance at the club and now seems to be settling in as one of our regular entertainers. So, Igor Sayenko and Oleksiy Kolomoiets, known as the Classic Accordion Duo began their concert. These guys still devote their tour to the Hipokrat Society and we know that by now what a wonderful job this charity does. The expected interval very quickly arrived indeed and as soon as everyone had enjoyed the refreshments the fundraising began. The draw for the Tote and the Raffle were soon over and the auction began, and thanks to everyone who made the effort to donate the goods and prizes do seem rather inadequate. Well done one and all. The Duo completed the second half of their repertoire to a standing ovation once again. ‘The Flight of the Bumblebee’ and their version of ‘The Waltz of the Flowers’ had drawn the most enthusiastic round of applause that evening. The evening was a great success with an excellent turnout with a number of new faces in the audience and we were very pleased to donate the sum of £742 to a very worthy cause. On Monday August 28th, 8pm, our guest is the versatile accordionist Jovan Rnjak, with Roy Nock on the drums. |

 On Sunday August 20th, 2pm, accordionist Erika, known as ‘The Princess of the Accordion’ and her keyboard accompanist Jean-Marie, play for dancing at the Restaurant 11 S’Y Sent Bien in Floreffe, Belgium.Erika Honorez studied the accordion, theory of music and classical music with Franz Lebrun from the Brussels Conservatory, and then specialized in the musette genre. Since 1981 Erika has been performing, composing, and recording. She has appeared on radio and TV in Belgium and France. Erika has recorded many CDs and DVDs, which are available through her website.  On Sunday August 20th, 6pm-8.30pm, Stanislav Angelov performs a solo ‘Piano Accordion Recital’ at Northwards House, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. His programme includes music by JS Bach, Chopin, Frosini, Galliano, Piazzolla, and more. Tickets cost 270 Rand, which includes wine and light supper. Stanislav Angelov studied the accordion in his native Bulgaria, and received a degree in accordion in 1991, after which he taught at the ‘Constantine Preslavsky’ University, Shumen.  Leonard Brown and his band perform at The Salutation Hotel in Perth, Scotland, on Sunday August 27th, 2pm until 5pm. Accordionists Iain McPhail and Brian Griffin will perform as special guests.Leonard Brown, from Newcastle, became only the second Englishman to become All Scotland Accordion Champion in 2012 (Robert Whitehead was the first in 1978). | The Castletown Accordion Orchestra (MD John Chilton) performs in a concert on Monday August 28th with the Akkordeon Landesjugend Orchester (ALJO) from Freiburg, Germany, and the Lambay Singers from Donabate, County Dublin, at St Anne’s Church, Bailborough, Virginia, County Cavan. Some accordion soloists will also contribute to this concert. The concert is hosted by the Irish Accordion Association. Admission is free, but voluntary contributions at the door will go to the Autistic Unit in Bailieboro Community School. |

 The London Accordion Orchestra (MD Ian Watson) performs in concert on Sunday September 3rd, 4.30pm to 6.30pm, at the Old Diarama Arts Centre (near Warren St tube station), 201 Drummond Street, London NW1 3FE. The LAO will share the concert with the highly accomplished Accordion State Youth Orchestra from Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. Touring with the German orchestra are the renowned American Baritone Douglas Yates and virtuoso Bandoneonist Antje Steen. Admission is by a suggested donation of £10. LAO began life as Morley Accordion Orchestra, based at Morley College, London, in 1999. The ensemble plays a wide variety of music - from original works for accordion orchestra to show tunes and film scores. There are 30 members of the orchestra and for concerts we are joined by percussionists - so it's quite a sound! In May 2013 the MAO performed at the World Music Festival in Innsbruck, Austria. 2014 saw the orchestra host 2 foreign ensembles for concerts in London; 'Torkest' from Holland at the Dutch Church in the City and then the 'Nuremberg Accordion Orchestra' at St John's Smith Square.
