Aveva 65 anni.Mario è stato fondatore della Pasco Italia, e nipote di Giuseppe Moreschi. Il marchio Moreschi fisarmoniche ha celebrato il centenario lo scorso anno. Come suonatore ha vinto il primo premio nel 1969 al Klingenthal Competition, e poi si è esibito in concerti in tutta la Russia ed in molti altri paesi.  Accompagnati da un bellissimo tempo durant le vacanze scolastiche dei membri di Schluchttal-akkordeon-Orchester Gurtweil e.V si è suonato al matrimonio di Christian ed Angelica nella splendida chiesa di Weilheimto ed è stato un giorno memorabile.Gli sposi ed i loro invitati non hanno resistito di ballare alle canzoni rock e anche Flashdance. L'esibizione dell'orchestra è stata più volte applaudita. Una gioiosa occasione per Christian ed Angelica dove tutti hanno condiviso l'amore per la bella musica in una occasione come questa.  Foto sopra: Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi e Luca Lucini, Orquestra de Coral e Alcoba condotto da Anibal Freire nel Monastero di Alcobaça bella, un patrimonio dell'umanità e una delle sette meraviglie del Portogallo.La XV settimana internazionale della fisarmonica ha incluso nel suo programma il XVI Trofeo Nazionale della Fisarmonica, con eventi e concerti straordinari che hanno emozionato il pubblico, che ha considerato questo evento come uno dei migliori che abbia mai tenuto in Alcobaça. In effetti è stato un grande successo. Il Trofeo Nazionale, ancora una volta, ha offerto circa 40 eventi che coinvolgono circa 40 giovani fisarmonicisti da nord a sud del paese. Molto evidente è stata la componente pedagogica, l'incoraggiamento e il calore tra tutti che hanno partecipato. Come sempre, la Settimana Internazionale della Fisarmonica ha offerto una Masterclass (con Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi) e concerti di elevata categoria. Evidenziamo il concerto con João Barradas (foto a destra) e il Duo Tango (Pietrodarchi / Luccini); il concerto di chiusura rimarrà intatto come uno dei più belli nella storia di Alcobaça, con un scenario memorabile come il Monastero di Alcobaça (Patrimonio Mondiale dell'Umanità e uno dei sette meraviglie del Portogallo). L'Associazione di Fisarmonica di Alcobaça e la Orchestra Tipica e Coral di Alcobaça hanno eseguito, ancora una volta e con molto merito, la più grande e variegata espressione artistica della fisarmonica in Portogallo, riconosciuta da appassionati di fisarmonica provenienti de tutto il mondo. |

 Si è svolto il 5° Accordion Art Festival a Pineto in Italia. Non sono mancati concerti straordinari con Igor Zavadsky (Ukraina) e il grandissimo Friederich Lips (Russia). In giuria maestri internazionali come Zorica Karakutovska, Frederic Deschamps, Herbert Scheibenreif oltre ai più riconosciuti maestri italiani.Gli Orpheus award (premio della critica come miglior produzione dell’anno) sono andati a: CESARE CHIACCHIARETTA El Alma de Piazzolla (Quartetto Suarez Paz) per la fisarmonica classica, DANIELE DI BONAVENTURA Sine Nomine (Harmonia Mundi) per la fisarmonica jazz e BUBE SAPRAVIE Petrus B.Spaghetti Sauce (Most Records) per la World Music; l’Orpheus alla carriera è stato assegnato a FREDERICH LIPS. La Selezione Italiana per il prossimo Trophée Mondial CMA (Pineto 13-18 settembre) e per la Coupe Mondiale CIA (Cina dall’1 al 6 ottobre) ha ammesso ben otto candidati fra le categorie classiche e virtuoso: Simone Sciammarella, Francesco Bracci, Domenico D'Annunzio, Lorenzo Bosica, Andrea Di Giacomo, Matteo Petronio, Giorgio Albanese, Antonio Simeone. Bellissima anche la Finale Nazionale V-Accordion della Roland che ha visto trionfare Pietro Adragna nella senior e Andrea Di Giacomo nella junior. La direzione artistica è stata curata dal jazzista Renzo Ruggieri con Salvatore Cauteruccio come presidente e Claudio Azzaro come segretario. | Dr. Robert Young McMahan (accordion) and Dr. Paul Cohen (soprano saxophone) presented the World Premiere of Dr. McMahan's composition, "Romp II" at the Tenri Cultural Center. The premiere was held during the 17th Annual 2011 AAA Master Class and Workshop Series organized and hosted by AAA Board member, Dr. William Schimmel. The composition was very enthusiastically received by the audience. During the performance, the audience enjoyed the interwoven melodies of saxophone and accordion and a contemporary sound that was exciting yet lyrical at times. |

| For the last 9 years, the Music Association of Dores has organized summer accordion training courses with teachers Domi Emorine and Roman Jbanov. The first week of August included players from 5 countries: France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Russia, and Kazakhstan. Due to the large numbers attending, Domi and Roman brought in an assistant, Félicien Brut, so that each of the trainees benefited from one period a day with the different teachers. The training course was opened up to every level and to all ages, and different music styles were approached: variety, classic, musette, and jazz. The training course was held in the premises of the Casino Municipal of La Bourboule. The second day, Domi and Roman, as the Paris Moscou Duo, presented their new album, featuring music by Franck Angelis, in a concert open to the public. This concert was like a musical trip from Russia to France, by imagining the ‘Troika in the Winter’ of Shalaiev, and by singing Russian and French popular airs. The end of the training course was followed by a video of the first and last day when students saw their progress made during the training course, after which the trainees gave a concert in the room of the city hall of the Mont Dore. Everybody left satisfied with their musical week with the intention to return in further training courses.  ‘A Jimmy Shand Dance Party’, an LP recorded in 1955 by Jimmy Shand and his Scottish Dance Band, has been released on CD. In the 1950s the legendary button accordionist Jimmy Shand was at the height of his popularity, and his recordings and broadcasts personified Scottish dance music for people in many countries around the world. A most prolific recording artiste, Shand’s LPs, EPs and single releases were eagerly sought, and his music was always cleanly played and made cheerful listening.  Along with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra is the only other fully professional Symphony Orchestra in New Zealand. During the past week, they have been performing music to the 1921 classic silent movie ‘The 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse’, about the life of a Tango instructor (played by Rudolf Valentino).Under the baton of Sir William Southgate, the orchestra performs through the entire movie. Throughout, their timing has to be exact, to combine with the movie, which certainly kept the conductor and orchestra on their toes! A standout feature was accordionist Tatiana Lanchtchikova. As well as being a vital part of the orchestra, on many occasions she performed solo, which was extremely well received by the sellout audiences, which averaged over 1,500 a night. |

 On September 24th the Serbian Duo of Petar Maric and Aleksandar Nikolic will perform a concert as part of the 36th Castelfidardo Premio Concorso & Festival Internazionale Fisarmonica in Italy.Peter Maric (accordion), winner of Coupe Mondiale and Trophée Mondial classical and entertainment categories and Aleksandar Nikolic (bandoneon) Astor Piazzolla Music Award winner and leader of the highly regarded Beltango Quintet will perform a program titled "Buttons and Bellows, Finally Together" in reference to "After 15 years of collaboration, they finally meet each other on the concert stage" ..... The program will include compositions by Franck Angelis, Zolotariev, Voytenko, Vlasov, Galliano, Piazzolla and by Aleksandar Nikolic. |

 Well known Manfred Leuchter has gathered a range of musicians around him (with whom he has worked with in recent years) to form an "All-Star" band for a big open-air concert on 20th August in Burg Wilhelmstein in Würselen (near Aachen) in Germany.This concert is designed to compliment the performance of Manfred Leuchter with other musicians including specially flown-in guests: guitarist Ian Melrose from Scotland, NY-based Syrian clarinet virtuoso Kinan Azmeh, vocalist Dima Orsho from Damascus, the Iranischen percussion-magician Afra Mussawisade and of course the stellar Leuchter band of Antoine Pütz (bass), Steffen Thormählen (drums), Christoph Titz (trombone) und Sebastian Pottmeier (saxophone).
