  La 77a Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) Coupe Mondiale si terrà dal 6 al 10 settembre 2024 a Castelfidardo, in Italia. L'evento sarà ospitato dal membro italiano della CIA, dall' Associazione Italiana della Cultura della Fisarmonica (IAC) e dalla Città di Castelfidardo, la città dei produttori di fisarmoniche.Il Presidente della CIA Mirco Patarini e il Segretario Generale Kimmo Mattila invitano calorosamente i concorrenti, gli insegnanti e i sostenitori della fisarmonica a partecipare alla Coupe Mondiale 2024 che prevede concerti e concorsi come segue: • 76ª Coupe Mondiale • Masters Coupe Mondiale • Junior Coupe Mondiale • Concorso Internazionale per Virtuosi della Musica d'Intrattenimento • Concorso Internazionale Junior per Virtuosi della Musica d'Intrattenimento • Musica da Camera - Classica • Musica da Camera - World Music Regolamento 2024 a: Coupe Mondiale Le informazioni riguardo gli alloggi saranno rilasciate a breve. Primo simposio nordico degli insegnanti di fisarmonica 2024 - Danimarcaby Grayson Masefield |

 Dal 29 febbraio al 2 marzo 2024 a Copenaghen, in Danimarca, la Royal Danish Academy of Music ha ospitato l'innovativo primo simposio nordico degli insegnanti di fisarmonica, organizzato dal Professore Geir Graugsvoll (foto a sinistra).L'evento aveva lo scopo di ispirare educatori e studenti, fornendo al contempo una piattaforma per lo scambio tra giovani fisarmonicisti. Il simposio ha visto la partecipazione di una variegata schiera di relatori che hanno tenuto sette discorsi di apertura sulla pedagogia della fisarmonica, hanno mostrato metodi di insegnamento innovativi e incluso anche presentazioni che esploravano lo stato dell'insegnamento della fisarmonica nei vari paesi. Si sono tenuti tre concerti con prime assolute ed esibizioni di ensemble e solisti, tra cui studenti della Royal Danish Academy of Music.  La XVI Dani Harmonike e la 1ª edizione della Accordion Euro Coupe si terranno a Bijeljina e Ugljevik, in Bosnia ed Erzegovina, dal 18 al 22 aprile 2024.Il concorso Accordion Euro Coupe si terrà per la prima volta nell'ambito del XVI festival Dani Harmonike e comprende categorie per solisti, virtuosi classici senior e virtuosi senior.   L'Orkney Folk Festival si terrà nelle Orcadi, in Scozia, dal 23 al 26 maggio 2024. Il festival ha vinto il premio "Evento dell'anno" 2023 agli MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards lo scorso anno.Tra gli artisti che si esibiranno ci sarà "The Chair" (foto in alto a sinistra), che include il fisarmonicista Bob Gibbon, che quest'anno festeggerà il suo 20° compleanno al festival. Il gruppo suona "un mash-up turbo di folk, blues, rock, dub, klezmer e altro ancora". Tra gli altri musicisti che si esibiranno si segnalano Karen Tweed, Genticorum (foto in alto a destra - fisarmonicista Nicholas Williams), The Glencraig Scottish Dance Band (foto sotto - Nicol McLaren alla fisarmonica), Mairtín O'Connor, Orkney Accordion and Fiddle Club, Orkney Strathspey e Reel Society, Orkney Traditional Music Project (gruppo di fisarmonica tradizionale e violino) e Rum Ragged. |

| I fisarmonicisti delle scuole di musica, delle scuole secondarie e degli istituti di istruzione superiore sono invitati a partecipare al IV Concorso Internazionale per Fisarmonicisti "Concord of Sounds 2024", che si terrà in presenza e virtualmente il 24 e 25 aprile 2024. L'evento si svolgerà presso la Scuola di Musica e Arte Marupe di Jaunmarupe, Marupes novads, Lettonia. Il concorso è organizzato dalla Scuola di Musica e Arte Marupe in collaborazione con la classe di fisarmonica dell'Accademia Lettone di Musica Jazeps Vitols, la Confédération Mondiale de l'Accordéon (CMA), l'Associazione Internazionale delle Scuole di Musica "Con Anima" e la società "MMMS AB".  Come contribuisci alla Giornata Mondiale della Fisarmonica per promuovere la fisarmonica nel tuo paese? La giornata mondiale della fisarmonica è il 6 maggio, che è il giorno in cui la fisarmonica è stata brevettata nel 1829.Il World Accordion Day è stato avviato nel 2009 dalla CIA e ha avuto molto successo, generando molta pubblicità positiva per la fisarmonica. Una parte fondamentale di questo evento è il sito web del World Accordion Day. Ogni associazione, gruppo, orchestra, performer e insegnante, è invitata a sostenere attivamente questo evento incoraggiando le attività nazionali e locali della fisarmonica che si terranno nel loro paese in quel giorno o nel weekend del giorno della fisarmonica, se ciò dovesse essere più conveniente. Tutti possono registrare la loro attività per la Giornata Mondiale della Fisarmonica sul sito Web e inviare un report sul loro evento dopo, per quel sito Web. Nessun evento è troppo grande o troppo piccolo. TUTTI gli eventi della fisarmonica che celebrano la Giornata Mondiale della Fisarmonica sono i benvenuti.   The opening concert of the 2024 "Accordéons-nous.org" 6th International Festival, held in Mons, Belgium will feature accordionist Klaudiusz Baran (Poland) on April 18th.On April 19th, at 12.15pm, Steve Normandin will give a lecture on his new book tracing the life of Edith Piaf. He will mainly cover the topic "Piaf and its Accordionists". The will be a concert by Klaudiusz Baran. Tonino Alessandrini, accordion builder and repairer, attends the event.  The Centrum Blues Camp will be held at the Centrum Campus in Port Townsend, Washington, USA from July 29th to August 4th, 2024.Camp instructor and accordionist, Bruce Sunpie Barnes is a “veteran New Orleans musician, former Park Ranger with the National Park Service for 30 years, actor, photographer, book author, former high school biology teacher, former college football All-American, and former NFL player (Kansas City Chiefs).” “Sunpie Barnes’ many careers have taken him far and wide. He has traveled to over 50 countries playing his own style of what he calls Afro-Louisiana music incorporating Blues, Zydeco, Gospel, Caribbean and African influenced rhythms and melodies.” “Now in its 30th year, the Port Townsend Acoustic Blues Festival continues to offer a side of the blues that popular culture does not always recognize – its roots! | The deadline for entry applications for participation in the VII All-Russian open competition for accordionists "Yugoria - 2024" has been extended. The competition will be held at the Surgut Music College in Surgut, Russia from April 4th to 8th, 2024. This musical festival will be dedicated to two significant events: the 150th anniversary of the birth of well known composer and teacher E.F. Gnessina, as well as the 430th anniversary of the founding of the city of Surgut. The jury features musicologist and composer, People's Artist of the Russian Federation, professor of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, Viatcheslav Semionov. A number of their concerts have been sold out. Skerryvore are a multi-award winning Scottish band creating a ‘trad-rock’ fusion that has seen them perform in over 25 countries worldwide. | Dmitry Khodonovich will perform a solo concert at the IX International Competition "Pearl of the Kuban", which will take place at the Small Concert Hall, located at 240 room 2 of the educational building of the Krasnodar State Institute of Culture in Krasnodar, Russia on March 11th, 2024 at 4pm. Dmitry Khodanovich is a laureate of the international Grand Prix competition in France and a student of composer and Honored Artist of Russia, Vladimir Bonakov. His work is permeated with bright and unique sounds that have won recognition both in Russia and abroad. Dmitry Khodanovich's concerts are a unique opportunity to plunge into the world of button accordion and classical music. |

St Patricks Day Parade

| Accordion entertainer, Tracey Collins will take part in the St Patricks Day Parade with Marian Burns (violin), which will take place on Queen Street, Auckland, New Zealand on March 17th, 2024, from midday, organised by the Hugh Green Group. “The parade will feature traditional Irish music and dance performers, colourful floats, costumes and marching bands, celebrating the spirit of Ireland on Auckland's main street.” Following the parade, Tracey will entertain at the St Patricks Day Hooley, held at Florry McGreals Irish Pub in Takapuna, Auckland at 8pm with the “Pat for President” band. | A new CD named “30x30” launch presentation will take place on March 19th, 2024, at the Marucelliana Library in Florence, Italy. The CD “30x30”, is “an exciting sonic journey that will take you through new musical perspectives.  Jenny’s Accordionists will hold a concert to celebrate the life of Richard Gregory at the All Saints Church in Fordham, Essex, England on April 13th, 2024 from 7pm.Jenny’s Accordionists were first formed in the late 1950's by teacher and conductor, Jennifer Neal (née Cross). Jenny passed away in 2013, however, the orchestra has continued to perform a varied repertoire of swing, classical, show tune, festive, popular and easy listening music from around the world. | The IFC International Folk Dance Camp will be held at Circle Lodge in Sylvan Lake, Hopewell Junction, New York, USA from May 10th to 12th, 2024. Six piece band “Balkan Fields” (picture above) will play live music at the event. Boston-based Balkan Fields has received accolades for their enthusiasm, musicianship, and harmony with careful attention to the needs of the IFC community. Maddelena Belfiore had such an enormous Massed Band (1000 accordionists!) in Nashville, Tennessee that she was hoisted up in a cherry picker to conduct the “Tennessee Waltz”, 1980.

I am creating an “ongoing” online article featuring photos from AAA events dating back to 1938. All events and all years are welcome! I have many boxes of photos and memorabilia from AAA achievements, events and competitions.
