 Con una straordinaria carriera come performer,insegnante e artista che ha lavorato con molti compositori e fatto molte anteprime di nuove opere, Friedrich Lips ha ora pubblicato un nuovo CD dal titolo 'Sotto il segno dello Scorpione'. Questo nuovo CD porta ad un totale di 24 CD che sono disponibili di questo grande artista disponibili sul sito web di Friedrich Lips.' Ex Animo '- dal cuore (latino) di Yevgeny Podgaits è uno dei pochi esempi di un quintetto di bayan - bayan con il quartetto d'archi. L'ampiezza del respiro melodico,la bellezza incantevole del tema in Podgaits è organicamente intrecciata con ritmi danzanti. 'Sotto il segno dello Scorpione' è uno dei più grandi affreschi dell'eccezionale compositrice Sofia Gubaidulina. In questa composizione ha utilizzato le funzioni connesse con alternanza di chiavi uguali su entrambe le tastiere - bassi sciolti e bassi standard. Secondo il compositore: "... Ma un'altra possibilità della norma-bass manuale è stata la cosa più importante per me: premendo contemporaneamente due pulsanti corrispondenti ad un accordo minore e uno maggiore , rispettivamente, e poi gradualmente spostando la mano verso l'alto o verso il basso sull'intera gamma dello strumento - senza cambiare la posizione del dito - risulteranno sei esacordi diversi. Questi sei esacordi prestano all'intera composizione la base strutturale per la sua materia e forma: variazioni su sei esacordi - così recita il sottotitolo dell'opera. Il titolo del concerto bayan 'Sotto il segno dello Scorpione' nasce dal fatto che questo lavoro è dedicato a uno dei musicisti più seri del nostro tempo, il suonatore di bayan Friedrich Lips, nato sotto il segno zodiacale dello Scorpione.  Il rinomato compositore nominato agli Academy Awards John Powell (83 Nomination agli Oscar per la migliore colonna sonora con 'How to Train Your Dragon') ha pubblicato un annuncio per 18 fisarmonicisti allo scopo di suonare il suo nuovo spartito per l'ultimo film della serie 'Era Glaciale' : 'Ice Age: Continental Drift'.Il palco dei Fox Studios è stato il set per questo progetto monumentale, e presentava alcuni nomi noti nel mondo della fisarmonica tra cui il fisarmonicista di Los Angeles Liz Finch (presidente ad interim della Accordionists & Teachers Guild International (ATG), Mike Boddicker (figlio di Gerry e Arlene Boddicker, volti noti della fisarmonica), John Torcello (Vincitore della CIA Coupe Mondiale USA del 1972), e il ben noto artista con residente in California Nick Ariondo. John Powell, compositore di film come 'Ice Age', 'Happy Feet', 'Rio', 'Kung Fu Panda', 'The Bourne Ultimatum', 'The Bourne Supremacy', 'Robots', e molti altri, ha richiesto 14 fisarmonicisti e 4 fisarmoniche basse per eseguire le sue opere nel film 'L'era glaciale'. Randy Kerber, uno dei migliori pianisti della sessione di film che lavora per Powell, ha eseguito una delle parti per la fisarmonica. I fisarmonicisti sono stati condotti da Pete Anthony, che aveva trascorso tutta la giornata a condurre un'orchestra sinfonica, e conduce quasi il 50% di tutti i punteggi registrati a Los Angeles. John Powell aveva acquistato una fisarmonica da utilizzare come ricerca per la colonna sonora, ed è stato entusiasta del risultato ottenuto. Ha anche portato la sua fisarmonica alla seduta, in caso fosse stata necessaria, ed è felice di indossarla mentre si scatta una foto con i fisarmonicisti a conclusione della sessione di registrazione. Lo spettacolo presso gli studi Fox dei 18 fisarmonicisti condotti da uno dei registi musicali più ricercati di Hollywood è stato interessante, hanno eseguito la musica di uno dei compositori di film ad un paio di produttori che hanno partecipato per curiosità, e siamo rimasti soddisfatti del risultato. L'intero progetto è servito da vetrina molto positiva per la fisarmonica. 'Ice Age: Continental Drift' uscirà il 13 luglio 2012. |

 Peter Anzaldua, of Brownsville, is the 2012 Texas Folklife Festival Big Squeeze champion. Anzaldua, 15, won the recent 29th annual Accordion Kings & Queens contest in Houston for the best young accordion players from across Texas.In addition to taking home the top prize of $1,000 and a Hohner Classic II accordion, after winning the contest Anzaldua got to play a set on the Miller Outdoor Auditorium stage with headliners Flaco Jimenez, Mingo Saldivar and the Texmaniacs. “That was amazing,” his mother Christi Anzaldua said of seeing her son perform with the Texmaniacs, one of the top Tex-Mex conjunto groups in the country. Anzaldua, who attends Veterans Memorial High School, said the fact that people were dancing during the contest made it easier to perform well. He beat out three other finalists, Luis Gonzalez of Grand Prairie, Michael Salinas of Dallas and Omar Garza of Mission. “I was excited,” he said. “It’s better when there’s dancing. People get into the music and it just comes together more”. As the Big Squeeze champion, Anzaldua will perform at Texas Folklife Festival events throughout the coming year. He said he expects to perform soon in the Rio Grande Valley, but as of Sunday afternoon wasn’t sure exactly where. In the Big Squeeze he performed the polka ‘Viva Seguin’ as one number and a medley of songs including the ‘Folsom Prison Blues’ as the other. The contest was for accordion players of any genre. The other three finalists played Norteño selections. Between 6,000 and 8,000 people attended the Accordion Kings & Queens contest, which like all Miller Outdoor Auditorium events was free to the public but required advance tickets for covered seating and access to the dance floor. |

 Portuguese accordionist João Frade has released a new CD in a duo format with the great guitar and bass player Munir Hossn. The CD is ‘Piriquitos e Botonetes’, and its influences are Portuguese, Brazilian and African, along with Jazz and World Music. The CD is mainly instrumental but with some voice elements on several tracks, and the last song it´s featured by the Cape-Verdian star Mayra Andrade. Bach, performed by Margherita Berlanda and Ghenadie Rotari and the string orchestra of the Conservatory "G. Tartini" of Trieste at the Istituto A. Vivaldi in Monfalcone (Go), Italy. The possibility for the accordion to perform works written for harpischord with string orchestras and ensembles makes this performance really interesting for accordion teachers and students. |

 Dal 25 al 28 Maggio scorso si ? svolta l'inizio di una serie di eventi dedicati alla fisarmonica a Santeramo in Colle (Bari), suggestiva cittadina della Murgia pugliese. L?Associazione CSMA (Centro Studi Musicali Agogica), con la direzione artistica del M? Nicola Sette, il patrocinio della Regione Puglia, della Provincia di Bari , del Comune di Santeramo in Colle, ha organizzato il 1? Concorso Nazionale per fisarmonicisti il 25 Maggio.Nei tre giorni successivi si ? svolta la I master di fisarmonica, tenuta dal M? Claudio Jacomucci che si ? anche esibito in recital con musiche di J.S.Bach, E.Gismonti, P.Marzocchi, E.Melis, G.Fassone, C.Jacomucci, A.Piazzolla, H.Purcell. Da sottolineare la bravura e l'ottima preparazione pedagogica dei giovani fisarmonicisti che hanno partecipato al concorso e alla masterclass, per la maggior parte allievi del fisarmonicista Walter Di Girolamo, insegnante di fisarmonica alla Scuola Media "San Giovanni Bosco" di Santeramo, di Vincenzo De Nitto, del Corso di II livello del M? Francesco Palazzo al Conservatorio "G.Piccinni" di Bari e di Gionni Di Girolamo, insegnante alla Scuola Media "G.Galilei" di Monopoli. I vincitori hanno registrato un CD donato dall?Associazione WLO (Wonderful Life Organization) e saranno ospitati nella Stagione Concertistica 2013 del CSMA e di alcune associazioni partner. Il primo assoluto ed il Premio ?Virtuosit? sono andati al giovane Vito Antonio Forleo.  The Accordions Worldwide news for June 5th 1998 reported that a new record was established for the Guinness Book of Records in Germany for the world’s largest accordion orchestra – 1,480 players. What a sound they must have created! That was 14 years ago – does this record still stand, or has it been broken? We at accordions Worldwide would like to know. WORLD RECORD FOR LARGEST ACCORDION ORCHESTRA - GERMANY Contributed by Horst Hirschmüller The Guinness Book of Records (1998 edition) lists the largest accordion orchestra as having 761 players. On May 1st 1998 a new world record was set with nearly double this number of players at the Congress Centre, Leipzig, Saxony. 1,480 students and teachers of the ‘Musikschule Fröhlich’ played ‘Sachsenlied’, ‘Ode an die Freude’ and ‘Happy Birthday’, which was a special tribute to the mass orchestra conductor Dieter Fröhlich (founder and owner of the ‘Musikschule Fröhlich), which has 461 locations, more than 600 teachers and over 54,700 students. More than 150 orchestras have successfully performed in Germany and abroad. |

 Renowned Finnish accordionist Mika Väyrynen will begin his busy summer concert season performing at several prestigious music festivals. Mika will appear at the famed Naantali Music Festival when he presents concerts on June 14th and 16th. Mika will present music by Gubaidulina and Piazzolla, when he performs chamber music works with other festival artists.The Naantali Music Festival was founded by Professor Arto Noras, who celebrates his 70th birthday this year. This year marks the fifth time that Mika has had the privilege of being chosen to appear, and will perform along side Arto Noras, Ralf Gothoni, Elisabeth Leonskaja, The English Chamber Orchestra, Okko Kamu, Frans Helmerson, Michel Lethiec and many other world famous artists. Throughout its history, the Naantali Music Festival has become known for its legendary standard and high profile of artists, all personally chosen by founder Professor Noras. The President of Finland Sauli Niinistö and his wife Jenni Haukio will attend the Naantali Music Festival, an annual attendance coinciding with his summer villa being there. Mika has twice performed for former President Tarja Halonen in concerts at the Naantali Music Festival. Mika has recently completed two new CD recordings, including one solo CD of music by Bach and another CD of accordion duo with the Spanish accordionist Angel Luis Castano. New works featuring the accordion by composer Karen Fremar will be premiered. This public event is free.   This Saturday, 10th June, Frederic Deschamps will be holding a Masterclass/Concert in Taninges, France.It is hosted by the Christian Jacquard and his store Jacquard Musique. The master class is open to the public and the students of the Jacquard Music School.   Dopo l’esibizione sul palco del Parco Nord all’Aeroporto di Bresso, per il VII incontro mondiale delle famiglie, che li ha visti cimentarsi al cospetto di Sua Santità Benedetto XVI, il maestro Marco Lo Russo e l’attore Fabrizio Bucci continuano il loro sodalizio e approdano in terra pontina.Venerdì 8 giugno alle 21, la fisarmonica del maestro Marco Lo Russo accompagnerà i testi recitati dall’attore Fabrizio Bucci, ultimamente lo abbiamo visto sul piccolo schermo nel ruolo di Iacopo Vincenzi in Terra ribelle, la fiction della regista Cinzia TH Torrini, l’appuntamento è nell’Hall dell'Hotel Grand Hotel Appia a Formia in occasione dell'incontro di gala Internazionale del Club Inner Will. Tema della serata l’amicizia, che sarà raccontata musicata e recitata in un happening di recitazione che evidenzierà tutta la complicità teatrale e musicale dei due artisti, la performance di Lo Russo per fisarmonica sola con improvvisazione solistica, su musiche originali di grandi autori classici e moderni, accompagnerà le letture di Bucci che spazieranno da Oscar Wild a Neruda. Il weekend del maestro Lo Russo si chiuderà in Trentino, dove Domenica 10 Giugno sarà il protagonista della 7^ tappa della passeggiata cultural – gastronomica “il cucchiaio dell’Argentario”, che si svolge nei boschi e sui prati di Civezzano, Fornace, ed Albiano. La passeggiata all’insegna dell’enogastronomia, della natura, e della cultura farà rivivere gli usi e i costumi dei Canopi, gli antichi minatori dell’Argentario, la 7^ tappa, quella del bivio per Maso Bianchini sarà allietata dall’eclettica fisarmonica del maestro Marco Lo Russo che spazierà fra i vari generi musicali abbracciando la musica colta passando da quella popolare, rivisitando i canti popolari della tradizione degli antichi minatori. |
