 L'orchestra di tango “Guardia Nueva” diretta dal direttore musicale Raimo Vertainen ha fatto un tour in Finlandia il mese scorso presentando concerti in alcuni dei più grandi festival della Finlandia.Il loro tour comprendeva esibizioni al Jyvsäkylä Arts Festival, al Seinäjoki Tango Festival (con oltre 3.000 spettatori), al Kiuruvesi Festival (3.500 spettatori) e alla Chiesa di Lohtaja, dove si sono uniti alla cantante jazz e soul Johanna Försti. L'esibizione dell'orchestra al 30° anniversario Jyvsäkylä in Finlandia includeva la solista Arja Koriseva (foto a sinistra), una famosa artista finlandese. Una volta terminato questo tour di concerti, Raimo Vertainen si è recato a Shenzhen in Cina, dove ha partecipato alla sua prima Coupe Mondiale come membro del CIA Music Committee, il comitato che seleziona la giuria e dove Raimo era anche Presidente della giuria per la categoria World Music Ensemble, che completa un mese musicale molto intenso. |

 L'American Accordion Association ha annunciato che il loro Festival 2020 si terrà all'Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites di Alexandria, in Virginia, dall'8 al 12 luglio 2020.Il festival includerà artisti ospiti come Sam Reider, Cory Pesaturo, Joey Miskulin, un'orchestra del festival diretta da Mary Tokarski oltre a concorsi, workshop e molto altro. Molti saranno anche presenti per applaudire il Lifetime Achievement Award in onore di Linda Solely Reed per il suo enorme contributo all'AAA dagli anni '70 ad oggi, incluso il ruolo di Presidente AAA per molti anni.  Il World Street Film Festival si è tenuto a Rostov-on-Don, in Russia, il 23 e 24 agosto. L'evento includeva uno speciale "Rostov sullo schermo" che presentava video sul grande schermo.Un video di fisarmonica dell'Alleluia di Leonard Cohen è stato insignito del premio speciale “A New View of the Region"(Una nuova visione della regione, foto a destra). Oltre alla fisarmonica, il video mostra filmati del Parco nazionale statale "Rostovskiy" in Russia, le rovine della chiesa di Surb-Karapet (nel villaggio di Nesvetai), distretto di Miasnikov e regione di Rostov, Russia. Artisti nel video: Alexander Poeluev (fisarmonica, arrangiatore), Roman Kirimeev (riprese, montaggio), Dmitry Vodogretskiy (ingegnere del suono), Elizaveta Poelueva (sceneggiatore, produttore). Il video è stato ora inserito in un altro concorso intitolato "Na Blago Mira" (a beneficio del mondo). Il primo round di questo concorso dipende dai voti pubblici. Se il video ottiene abbastanza voti, verrà incluso in un breve elenco, e i membri della giuria guarderanno i video e decideranno qual è il migliore. | Il Festival Strumenti & Musica è un evento organizzato a Spoleto dall'Associazione Culturale Italian Accordion Culture (IAC) e Ars Spoletium Publisher and Recording. Mirco Patarini è il direttore artistico del festival e Michele Rossetti è direttore artistico del Concorso Pianistico Internazionale di Spoleto. C'è una grande competizione pianistica internazionale, la sera del 22 novembre ci sarà un concerto con Samuele Telari (fisarmonica) e la pianista Lucrezia Proietti a Palazzo Leti Sansi. Una parte importante del Festival Strumenti & Musica 2019 è il 3° Concorso Internazionale di Composizione "Città di Spoleto". Ciascun richiedente può presentare una o più composizioni per: a) pianoforte e fisarmonica b) pianoforte (solista) c) fisarmonica (solista) d) clarinetto, pianoforte e fisarmonica e) clarinetto e fisarmonica Ogni composizione non deve superare i 12 minuti.  The Accordion Association of Chinese Musicians' Association (CAA) welcomed the World Accordion Orchestra XI to the Final Concert of the 72nd Coupe Mondiale Festival in Shenzhen, China, from August 12th to 17th, 2019.The World Accordion Orchestra XI of approximately 120 players were led by famous Chinese conductor Chen Weiliang and the amazing Joan Sommers, founder and also Musical Director of the World Accordion Orchestra XI. | Dan Fedoryka is the accordionist for “Scythian”, a Celtic/folk/rock band that hosts Appaloosa, a 3-day music festival in Front Royal, Virginia, USA every Labor Day weekend (August 30th to September 1st this year). The festival features rising stars in Bluegrass, Americana and Celtic Music and takes place on a horse ranch campground nestled in the Shenandoah Valley. "Scythian" is celebrating 15 years as a band in conjunction with the 5th Annual Appaloosa Festival.  The 15th “Festival of the Axe” wood carving festival took place in the city of Tomsk in Western Siberia recently. This is an annual event which attracts over 400,000 visitors and participants from 37 countries and over 30 republics and regions of Russia.This year, for the first time the event was held in conjunction with the International Accordion Festival "Bayan Reunited with Friends". | The 7th annual Polish Cultural Festival will be held at Shipbuilders' Square in North Vancouver on September 8th from 1pm to 8pm. The event will feature Polish music, singing and folk dancing, a special program for children and youth, activities, sing along and more. Vendors will be selling Polish T-shirts and accessories, jewelery, arts and crafts, as well as plenty of delicious traditional Polish food such as sausages, perogis and pastries. The Parno Drom band which includes accordionist Bob Kozak will entertain at the festival with their Eastern European Romani (Gypsy) style music and songs from Russia, Poland, Hungary and beyond. | The 2019 Oktoberfest Munich will be held from September 21st to October 6th in Theresienwiese, Munich, Germany. The festival will include an opening ceremony, a variety of parades, concerts, children’s activities, fairground rides and a church service. Over 300 musicians are expected to take part in a unique performance of famous and popular Bavarian marches and songs in front of the picturesque backdrop of the Bavaria statue. For the grand finale, thousands of colorful balloons will be released into the sky in front of the Bavaria statue, while the audience sings along to the Bavarian anthem at the top of their voices.  Video: 'Broody' by Jet Black Pearl - a song about a middle aged chicken.The 24th Le Grand Soufflet International Accordion Festival will be held at the Centre Culturel Pôle Sud, in Chartres-de-Bretagne, Ille-et-Vilaine (French Brittany) from October 2nd to 12th. The Artistic Director is Etienne Grandjean. The festival is now an important festival in France dedicated to the accordion. Over 15,000 people attend each year, and performances are given in 30 to 40 venues, which can host up to 500 people. The purpose of the festival is to show the modern diversity of the accordion in a variety of styles such as electronic, punk, rock, experimental etc. This year artists from all over the world have been invited to show different styles of music (Brazil, Canada, Argentina, Madagascar, Finland, etc) as well as young promising artists from France and other countries.
