Alexander Sevastian presenta un nuovo CD, Toronto - Canada

 Il fisarmonicista Alexander Sevastian ha recentemente presentato un suo ultimo CD con un esteso programma concertistico. Il titolo del CD è 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' che include lavori di Bach, Scarlatti, Schubert, Goubaidulina, Repnikov, Berinski, Derbenko, Kachaturian, Mendelssohn e Rachmaninov.
Alexander nato in Bielorussia si è laureato all’Academia di musica di Gnessin sotto la guida del noto professore Friedrich Lips. Alexander Sevastian che vive a Toronto, Canada, vincitore di 3 importanti competizioni internazionali come l'Oslofjoird' in Norvegia, 'Cup of the North' in Russia e l’ ATG 'Anthony Galla-Rini per fisarmonica classica in USA.
Con appuntamenti concertistici sia come solista che insieme al Quartetto Gelato di cui fa parte dal 2002 ha visitato la Bielorussia , Russia, Canada, Ucraina, Italia, Francia, Germania, Corea, Giappone e gli USA.

Una raccolta di CD fatta da Bobby MacLeod dei classici di musica scozzese da ballo degli anni 40 e 50 della Scozia dell’Isola of Mull. I CD sono stati registrati in maniera digitale è presentati su 2 CD con i titoli ‘Bobby MacLeod – Vintage 78s’, Volumes I e 2.
Alcuni brani del Volume 2 non sono mai stati pubblicati.
Bobby MacLeod che suonava anche la cornamusa prima di dedicarsi alla fisarmonica non può negare questo stile inconfondibile con basi musicali della Sozzia

"Double
B Concerto" Di Ivano Battiston - Italia
 Il
repertorio con orchestra si arricchisce di una nuova composizione.
Il noto fisarmonicista e compositore Ivano Battiston, infatti, ha
scritto un concerto per flauto dolce, fisarmonica e orchestra d'archi
intitolato Double B Concerto, a musical self portrait. Ecco cosa
dice lo stesso Battiston a proposito di questo lavoro:
"In questi ultimi anni, ho avuto la fortuna
di suonare spesso con David Bellugi, grande virtuoso del flauto
dolce oltre che carissimo amico. Più volte abbiamo avuto
modo di collaborare come solisti con ottime orchestre ma purtroppo
sempre separatamente in quanto non potevamo contare su un doppio
concerto".
L'idea di scrivere questo brano è nata proprio per questa
ragione. Il nostro Duo si è contraddistinto per la piacevolezza
e la varietà dei programmi e "Double B Concerto"
è un nostro autoritratto musicale. Ho quindi privilegiato
gli ingegnosi virtuosismi della musica barocca, le chimeriche sonorità
della musica contemporanea e i travolgenti ritmi della musica etnica,
soprattutto est europea.
Il primo movimento, "Brandeburghesemente", è un'interpretazione
compositiva del primo movimento del Quinto Concerto Brandeburghese
di Johann Sebastian Bach. Il secondo movimento, "Improvisation",riprende
alcuni spunti tematici del primo ma li sviluppa verso le sonorità
della musica contemporanea. "Folk Dance", infine, amplia
ancora un breve inciso del primo movimento, ma questa volta in un
ambiente sonoro etnico e su un ritmo bulgaro, per concludersi con
una nuova citazione del brandeburghese bachiano."
La prima esecuzione si è tenuta nella Concert Hall di Krasnoyarsk
(Russia) il 2 giugno scorso con David Bellugi al flauto dolce, lo
stesso Battiston alla fisarmonica e Michael Beniumov, dedicatario
dell'opera, alla guida dell 'ottima Orchestra da Camera di Krasnoyarsk.
Il brano è stato accolto con grande entusiasmo dal numeroso
pubblico presente. Lusinghiere le segnalazioni della critica.

il libro dal titolo ‘Mario Tacca – con composizioni originali
per fisarmonica, Solo e in Duetto. Ognuno dei 10 brani si distinguono
con uno stile ben preciso con basi etniche.
Il libro è accompagnato da un CD dove Mario interpreta ogni
lavoro e in aggiunta ha registrato la base per la seconda fisarmonica
con brani per duetto onde potere offrire questa opzione agli artisti
per accompagnamento in duetto. .

65th ATG Competition and Festival, Texas - USA

 Jazz was in the air when the Accordionists and Teachers Guild, International (ATG) held its 65 th Annual Competition and Festival in Richardson , Texas (Dallas). Featuring jazz legends Art Van Damme and Frank Marocco, the festival also featured an International Jazz Competition for Accordion, which attracted contestants from the United States and Europe .
Julien Labro from Detroit , Michigan won the $3,000.00 First Prize in the Art Van Damme International Competition for Jazz Accordion. Originally from France , Julien is student of World Champion Peter Soave at Wayne State University .
 The 2nd Prize was won by Peter Martin from California . In addition to the Art Van Damme International Jazz Competition, there was a special International Jazz Competition category honoring Frank Marocco, which was won by Jérôme Richard from France .
In addition to Art Van Damme and Frank Marocco, the festival concerts
featured artistes such as Mirco Patarini (Italy), ATG President Stas
Venglevski, Dee
Langley, Dr. Karen Fremar, the UMKC
Community Accordion Orchestra, Jim Rommel, John Simkus, Gordon
Kohl, Sharon Seaton and popular Texas artiste Ginny Mac.
The 2005 Festival Accordion Orchestra under the direction of Joan C. Sommers performed at several concerts during the festival including the Taste of Musical Excellence Press Concert, an appearance accompanying Frank Marocco and closing the Saturday night Gala concert.
Workshop presenters included Frederic Deschamps (France), Art Van Damme, Frank Marocco, Ginny Mac, Jim Rommel, Dr. Sharon Seaton, Gordon Kohl, Jeff Crilley, Misha Litvin and Dee Langley. Joan C. Sommers was inducted as the new ATG President at the conclusion of the festival with Dee Langley re-elected First Vice President and Stas Venglevski Second Vice President.
Plans are already underway for the 2006 Festival in Minneapolis , Minnesota , which will include workshops, displays, concerts and competitions. In 2007 the ATG will join forces with its sister organization and fellow CIA member - the American Accordionists Association (AAA) to co-host the 60 th Anniversary Confédération Internationale des Accordeonistes (CIA) Coupe Mondiale World Accordion Championships in the United States.

Accordion Orchestra’s Contest Success, Kammeltal - Germany

The Kammeltal Accordion Orchestra were rewarded with First Prize in the recent International Competition in Castelfidardo , Italy . The orchestra (MD Marianne Baldauf) and the youth orchestra led by her daughter Anja both returned home with prizes, presented by the Jury President Vladimir Zubitzky. Second placed in this section, known as Category A, was the Hof Accordion Orchestra, from Germany . The Kammelthal Orchestra played the ‘Divertimento Ritmico’, from W. Russ, and ‘Krakatao’, by Stefan Hippe. The members of the Kammetal Orchestra and Youth Orchestra combined the festival with a holiday in Castelfidardo and in nearby Fano, enjoying the beautiful scenery and the sea.
The Kammeltal Orchestras received the Prize donated by Multimedia Schmuelling, publisher of the Intermusik newspaper and Karthause Schmuelling , and the Special Award Prize from Accordions Worldwide, presented by Holda Paoletti Kampl. The Youth Orchestra had participated for the first time in an international competition.
The young musicians had prepared purposefully and presented the four movements from the ‘Maerchensinfonietta’, by Rudolf Wuerthner, by heart. At their first attempt they achieved the 3 rd Place . First in this section, known as Category C, were the Cvrak Harmonikaski Orkester, (from Pula , Croatia ), and second were the Hof Youth Accordion Orchestra. As a prize, the Kammeltal Youth Orchestra was rewarded with the Cup of the City of Castelfidardo , and a money prize presented by the Jury Chairman, Paolo Picchio.
