New Teaching Association 'Club Voglia D'Arte' -
Italy
Renzo Ruggieri
founded 'Club Voglia D'Arte', a new association of private schools
on September 27th, with 10 schools actively participating to date.
The method of CVA is based on direct lessons with the student and
offer a modern and practical vision of teaching; at the same time
it is an alternative to courses at a conservatory. All the programs
(Jazz, Modern, Popular) are original and developed by the same teachers
and therefore always in review. The approach for individual lessons
(in 5 sequences) is identical for the entire courses.
The courses for beginners allow students to choose according to their
inclination, eliminating the hitherto used conception of only learning
traditional music, and are based on principles used successfully for
over 15 years.
'Sights' is a novel that tells the story of 13-year old teenage girl
who has had a difficult childhood, moves to a new school and makes
friends with some other misfits and forms a band, playing the accordion.
The girl has an extraordinary gift in that she can see into other
people's futures, though not her own.
The book, which is based on fantasy, is set in the 1950s. Published
by Delacorte Press.
The
year 2008 brought victory for "magician" accordionist Veronika
Todorova. She won the 2nd Premio Leo Ceroni accordion competition
in Riolo Terme near Rimini on January 4th and 5th in two rounds in
front of two different juries.
Accompanied by the orchestra 'String International', under the direction
of Italian jazz accordion star Renzo
Ruggieri, Veronika presented her jazzy 'Tarantella Versopm', which
is on her current CD 'Rosso'.
Public and jury were both enthusiastic, and awarded the 20-year old
with the first place. During the prize giving concert, Veronika, together
with the string orchestra, showed further skills that she is both
a solo and an ensemble artiste.
