New York based accordionist Kevin Friedrich and New Zealand Composer/Conductor Gary Daverne have just completed recording works for accordion solo and String Orchestra and percussion in Olomouc, Czech Republic.

The piece "Gem of the Kaipara" which was written in memory of the late Mrs. Jenny Cocurullo, a lifetime member of the New Zealand Accordion Association, and long time supporter of the arts from Dargaville, New Zealand, was one of 10 works by Gary Daverne recorded during the four day session with the Moravian Philharmonic led by Czech conductor Petr Pololáník. This is Daverne's second CD of his original compositions.

Daverne's first recording of his orchestral music was recorded with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra (NZSO) and also included one accordion concerto, the "Rhapsody for Accordion and Orchestra" performed by soloist Harley Jones.
