60th Birthday Memorial For Vladislav
Solotarjov
Contributed
by Dr Herbert
Scheibenreif Manager of Friedrich
Lips Productions
Vladislav Solotarjov would have celebrated his
60th birthday on September 13th 2002, however, unfortunately he
committed suicide on May 13th, 1975. There is no doubt that he is
already one of the outstanding composers for the bayan/accordion.
Many of his ideas were revolutionary in his time and Friedrich
Lips often says: "without Solotarjov we would never have had
Sofia Gubaidulina".
His compositions include Six Children's Suites,
Partita, Sonata No 1 & 2, Chamber Suite, Monastery of Ferapont,
Five Compositions, Three pieces, Ispaniada, Rondo Capriccioso for
3 bayans, and Concert symphonies No 1 & 2 for bayan and orchestra.
