New Zealand's best, alongside some of the most brilliant, challenging
and exhilarating international performing, literary and visual arts

artists.
This year the festival's program included bandoneon
players, Nestor Marconi and the Marconi Quintet (Argentina) who
played an entertaining program of tango music, plus Cesar Olguin
with Cuarteto Latino Americano (Argentina) who performed Piazzolla
tangos.
Accordions

Lanchtchikova played the accordion in two shows with Don McGlashan
(one of New Zealand's leading composers and songwriters). His show
was the first one to be sold out almost 3 months before the festival
began. Their program included a variety of Don's new and old songs.
Tatiana also performed with the group "Bravura",
which includes Miranda Adams (violin), Nigel Gavin (guitar), Peter
Scott (bass) and pianist & composer Jonathan Besser (leader of the
group). They gave 5 performances including two "sold out" shows.
Their program included music written by Jonathan Besser such as
pieces from classical to sea shanties, from contemporary music to
Jewish Tango, and from jazz to late night cabaret. "Bravura" has
released two CDs - "Mr Darwin's Dance" (suite on sea shanty theme)
and "You Got Your Wish" (Jewish Tangos & classical and contemporary
style pieces).
