Richard
Galliano live in Concert at Frankfurt Music Fair - Germany
Contributed
by Holda
Paoletti-Kampl
On March 14th jazz accordionist Richard Galliano
will entertain with Jean Marie Ecay (guitar), Remi Vignolo (bass)
and Jean Luc Danna (percussion) at the Palmengarten during the Frankfurt
Music Fair. The concert is offered to the City of Frankfurt and
to visitors of the MusikMesse 2002 by Ancona Promuove, the special
department of the Chamber of Commerce of Ancona and by the Town
of Castelfidardo
"home of Italian accordion", with a grant in aid of the Marches
Region. Richard Galliano said (smiling) his greatest joy is "that
of making people love the accordion. When I started playing it,
it was a handicap, now it is an advantage!".
Richard Galliano obtained his first professional
engagement at the age of 13. At 16 he participated in various world
championships and in 1966 he won the Junior Championship in Valencia,
in 1967 in Calais and in 1968 he obtained a Prize from the President
of the Republic with a program ranging over many fields: from accordion
excerpts to Bach and Tchaikovsky. In the 1980's Galliano finally
embraced the music he loved when he was a boy, but never actually
played - Jazz. Since that time he has performed many successful
concerts internationally and recorded on a number of CD's.
Famous French accordionist Jean
Louis Noton will be at the Cavagnolo stand, G21A in Hall 3 to
present their new products.
