On behalf of Gary Dahl — The Legacy Continues the Dahl Family and ourselves
personally, we would like to wish everyone a joyous Holiday Season!
Studio Renovation
The renovated GDTLC studio
The renovated GDTLC studio
In order to meet our goals for the upcoming year and provide an unparalleled quality of
recording for the Gary Dahl — The Legacy Continues (GDTLC) community, there have been several
revisions and updates made to the GDTLC Recording Studio. Among the many
improvements, you'll notice the discrete recording of both the treble
and bass sides of the accordion. Listen to your left speaker (or headphones) and you'll
hear primarily the bass, while the right speaker delivers the treble! Many changes have
also been incorporated into the workflow, allowing us to create the highest
level of engraved arrangements ready for you to play immediately.
Audio and Video for New Arrangements
This is an unprecedented first for the Accordion Community: at no additional charge,
we'll be providing both audio and video recordings for all new accordion arrangements.
This is a definite help when you are learning a new arrangement and we're happy
to be including this new feature. Our "Video Guru", Piotr Geirs, will be helping with
this new program.

The Bugari Evo As Delivered
Bugari Evo Haria P41
As most know, my love of the acoustic accordion will never be surpassed! However,
times are changing and the digital accordion is becoming more prominent. Thanks to the
great folks at Petosa, I've acquired the Bugari Evo P41 digital accordion. It's a beautiful
custom design, and my first digital accordion ever. My experience working with the
likes of Yamaha, Kurzweil and a long list of others will allow me to explore, learn,
and provide you with new sounds, user programs, and other technical features that
the digital accordions have to offer. Since the Bugari uses the same Roland sound
engine as the V-Accordion line, what I share can be used with all digital accordion
users.
New Arrangements
In final proofing is a new accordion arrangement of
L.O.V.E. (Kaemptfert) and Caledonia (MacLean). Although distinctly different, each
of these songs will be sure to please even the most critical accordion players. The
list of future arrangements is long and vast, so visit our website often to see what's
coming next. You'll find newly released arrangements announced on the
News page of
our website.
The Learning Curve
Antoni with new Bugari Evo
I'd like to congratulate student Antoni Frodyma on taking delivery of his new Bugari Evo
Haria P41. I'm sure you can tell by the smile on his face that he's having a great time.
Antoni has progressed even farther in the Chord Melody Methodi> and is now finishing Gary's
beautiful arrangement of A Day in the Life of a Fool. Antoni is on fire!
Piotr on the grand stage
Piotr performing live
I'm so very happy to announce that our always popular, talented accordion player
Piotr Giers,
recently performed at the Jubilee of the 70th anniversary of the Music Schools Complex
Czeslaw Niemenhis. Piotr took to the grand stage and showed them what he has
accomplished! He really wowed the audience with this performance and, as you can see from the
pictures, it was such beautiful show!
Jennifer Klotz has been learning the ropes and is now playing professionally as a single
performer and with her friends in a new band! She's working on some new arrangements such
as Al Di La (Pericoli), and Lara's Theme (Jarre). Watch for future updates from Jennifer!
Next up is Goswin Van Laer. Goswin is continuing his efforts in the Chord Melody
Method and has now added my new arrangement of Georgia to his learning repertoire.
For another talented performer who is making exciting progress, a big shout out has to go to
Wesley Griffitt!
I have to say that it's been quite a while
since I've heard a person improve at the pace that Wesley has set. With the talent and
dedication Wesley is showing, you'll be hearing a lot about him in the near future.
Another very fast learner, Nancy Erikson, is moving into new territory. The Getting
Into Accordion book is now being swallowed by Nancy at a blazing pace! Watch for future
updates about Nancy.
Remembering Gary
Talk about "Accordion Camp 101", I've had the honor to work with Inder Singh
in the
GDTLC Studio. Inder traveled from California to spend two intense days of study with me.
Along with sharing some great memories of Gary as you'll see in the pictures, we did
some heavy-duty learning! Another accordion player that you'll be hearing more about
in the future!
The Technical Advantage
You may recall that we have had difficulty with the world-wide distribution of our email, with
spam rules blocking some of our non-USA deliveries. We have recently made improvements in this area and
hopefully everyone can now correctly receive our GDTLC emails, including sales items, newsletter announcements,
our upcoming survey, and any other correspondence.
At the Coda
To better understand where interests are, we will soon be sending out our first preference survey by email.
This will cover types of music, website improvements, specific arrangement requests, new
resources and ways of supporting players, and anything else we can think of. Please take a
moment to send us your response to this survey when it is released — you'll be rewarded with a
free arrangement by return email. Don't miss your chance!
That's a wrap!
