2018 ATG Festival - Lisle, Illinois — From July 25-29, 2018, I was able to accomplish two goals! Represent Gary Dahl — The Legacy Continues (GDTLC) at the Accordionists and Teachers Guild International (ATG) annual festival and perform some of our fine arrangements.

The ATG Board of Directors asked me to play for what turned out to be two luncheons. It was great to play some of Gary's arrangements while adding in some of the newer arrangements that will be headed your way very soon!

A second milestone was accomplished by having the opportunity to play in the Accordion Orchestra under the direction of Ms. Joan Sommers. Ms. Sommers had also asked me to play in the Original Music Concert that was being held on July 27th.

What a FANTASTIC Orchestra Leader and musician in her own right. Ms. Sommers was a true "Accordion Professor". A short biography of Ms. Sommers' accomplishments can be found here. You might also be interested in the ATG Festival Accordion Orchestra television coverage.

Gary Dahl Accordion Arrangements on Display and Selling Fast! — The ATG graciously offered us the opportunity to display some printed eBooks. For doing so, we were able to donate 50% of the sale proceeds to this fine organization with the balance to be provided to Eloise Dahl. Boy, did we sell a lot of eBooks! I'm proud to say that the festival was a great success, and I'm looking forward to next year!

More at the ATG Festival — Of course, there were many more activities at the ATG Festival, and lots of opportunities to meet with old and new friends! We encourage everyone to visit the newly revised website at ATGAccordions.Com. There’s a lot of great content on their website. If you like what you see, consider joining the ATG.

New Arrangements — We're on the home stretch with Georgia On My Mind, so get ready to download the latest arrangement. This new arrangement features a solo section and some new-to-the-accordion harmonies that haven't been used before. I think you'll enjoy the "bluesy" jazz feel and so will your audience. Keep your eye on the News page of our website, and you'll see the new arrangement real soon!

BONUS! — We've added another free item to our Resources page. Check it out and you'll find the popular Al Di La. In case you missed our earlier bonus, you'll also find a free copy of Impossible Dream. To get a significant price break on other arrangements, consider an eBook collection. Most eBooks are priced less than 50% of the cost of individual solos. Along with our 20% discount, they're a real bargin!

The Learning Curve — For all his hard work and dedication, I'd like to congratulate student Antoni Frodyma for his hard work with the Chord Melody Method. He's now completed ALL the songs and exercises up to page 18!

I'm honored to say that our always popular "video guru" Piotr Giers is on fire! Piotr just finished up some recent performances, and his crowds were amazing! Piotr has also finished the GDTLC arrangement of Misty.

Jennifer Klotz will be performing live during the month of September and will be playing several GDTLC arrangements. Jennifer is one of the hardest working students, and it is really showing in her playing! She's completed The Impossible Dream, Georgia on My Mind, and Bye Bye Blackbird. We've been working very hard on some of these songs during her lessons, and I know the crowd will be pleased!

Next up, we've got Goswin Van Laer. Goswin finished all of the chord exercises in the Chord Melody Method, and now he's moved on to learning more of the songs. Goswin is an accomplished musician playing several instruments, and he’s now concentrating on the accordion! Watch for updates in the future about what Goswin has to offer!

At the Coda — While busy learning the ATG Festival Accordion Orchestra 1st Accordion Parts, I'm also getting ever so close to finishing: The Days of Wine and Roses (Mancini) and Mack the Knife (Weill). These songs will be some real crowd pleasers for your entire audience. As always, if you've got suggestions for new arrangements please let us know, and we'll see what we can do.

That's a wrap!

Tris and Dennis
